Basilosaurus is a favorite for reconstructions as well as re-creations and interpretations in paleoart (there is currently a lot of talk about the differences on Twitter). There are many different illustrations of
Basilosaurus that have many different body types and rather than discuss the merit of one over another today, I feel that is is much more productive to instead share a few and let the readers come to their own conclusions on what is the most whale-like interpretation or the least, or even the most interesting regardless of its whale-like attributes.
